This policy explains what the PerfScope desktop app and this website (the share service) do with information. PerfScope is operated by Motasem Abozaid.

Performance data

PerfScope measures apps running on phones you connect to your computer. The measurements (frame rate, CPU, memory, screenshots if you turn them on, and similar) are processed and stored on your computer. We don't receive them, except for reports you choose to share (below).

Signing in with Google

Signing in is optional. If you sign in, PerfScope asks Google for:

• Your name, email address and profile picture (the openid, email and profile permissions). They're shown in the app and your name is placed on reports you generate. They're stored on your computer only.
• Access to files PerfScope creates in your Google Drive (the drive.file permission). PerfScope saves your recorded sessions to a "PerfScope" folder in your own Drive and reads them back, so your sessions are backed up and available on your other computers. It can't see or change any other files in your Drive. This transfer happens directly between the app on your computer and Google; the sessions don't pass through our servers.

The sign-in credentials (a Google refresh token) are kept in your operating system's secure credential store (macOS Keychain or Windows Credential Manager) on your computer.

PerfScope's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We don't use Google user data for advertising, we don't sell it, we don't use it to train AI models, and humans don't read it unless you ask us to help with a problem and give permission, or the law requires it.

Shared reports

When you press Share, the report you're sharing (a web page with the session's app and device names, your name and organization, the case note, the statistics and charts) is uploaded to this site and stored with Cloudflare, our hosting provider. Anyone who has the link can view it. Links aren't listed anywhere and are marked so search engines don't index them. With each report we store your Google account ID and email so that only you can revoke it. A report is deleted when you revoke its link, or when it expires if you set an expiry.

What we don't do

The app contains no advertising, analytics or tracking. We don't sell or rent personal information.

Service providers

Google (sign-in and Google Drive, under your own Google account) and Cloudflare (hosting shared reports; Cloudflare processes request data such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the service).

Your choices and deleting data

• Sign out in PerfScope (Profile → Sign out). This also revokes PerfScope's access to your Google account. You can also remove access at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
• Delete sessions in the app (they move to your Drive's trash), or delete the "PerfScope" folder in your Drive.
• Revoke share links from the Share dialog in the app. To have any shared report removed, contact abozaid1998.mma@gmail.com.

Children

PerfScope is a developer tool and isn't directed at children under 13.
